Saudi Arabia to host ESL Pro League Season 25

ESL has announced that Season 25 of Pro League will take place in Saudi Arabia from March 4-14, 2027.

The organizer revealed the location in a release of additional information for the tournament, which also states that invites will come from the January VRS, seeding will follow the February VRS, and the tournament will use 12 Global invites alongside four invites to the Europe, North America, South America, and Asia-Oceania winners of ESL Challenger League Season 52.

ESL also increased the prize pool for the Saudi Arabian event to $1,250,000, up $250,000 from the previous season, with the increase only affecting the club share portion of the purse.

It will be the first time ESL's flagship league will head to Saudi Arabia after previous seasons exclusively took place in Europe, the United States, and Brazil. The announcement comes four years after the Saudi-backed Savvy Games Group acquired the ESL FACEIT Group in January 2022.

ESL has since helped organize several CS2 EWC events in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the 2026 iteration set to play out from August 12-23. Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, told TIME that he remains hopeful that EWC will still move forward in Riyadh this year despite the ongoing conflict in Iran.
